was home to the Music. The first baseball team to call the city of Macon home was the Macon Peaches of the South Atlantic League
from 1904 to 1916, and from 1923 to 1930, playing at Central City Park. They would rejoin the South Atlantic League in 1936 intermittently until 1955, and also spent time in the Southern League
and Southeastern League
The Macon Peaches were affiliated with many major league teams, including the Cincinnati Reds

In 1991, the Atlanta Braves

After the class-A Braves moved to Rome
in 2002, the following season saw another team called the Macon Peaches. This Peaches team was a member of the Southeastern League
, both of which folded in 2004.
The Macon Music of the South Coast League played in the 2007 season. The team was approved for play by the Macon City Council in February 2006. Finishing in first place in the second-half of the season with a 28-16 record, the Music lost the championship series to the first-half (and overall best record) champion South Georgia Peanuts two games to one.
True to the musical heritage of the city, and on which the team name was based, the Music has offered a contract to American Idol
