There are large dairies in the region, about 5,000 persons living in Loma Plata.

History

In the origins of the colony Loma Plata, villagers had to overcome many adversities, such as the attack of wild animals and lack of medical care. Around 101 villages make up the colony in that area.

It was the first colony of Canadian immigrants in the region was founded in 1927, is an important urban center and administrative Cooperatives Menno.

Tourism

Currently one of the 4 existing hospitals in the department of Boquerón is in Loma Plata, which serves all residents of the area.

Transportation

Loma Plata is accessible by a paved road 22 km long, branching off the Transchaco highway.
