Martha Morse

Martha Morse was born on January 2, 1782 in Scotland, where she spent all her childhood, with father, a wealthy landowners in the Scottish Highlands. Her mostly fictionalised story was said in The Martha Years four books by Melissa Wiley. Martha was a mother of Charlotte Tucker and a great-grandmother to Laura Ingalls Wilder.

Martha married a blacksmith's son; Lewis Tucker. First Lewis and then Martha travelled to the United States. Martha and Lewis began their new life near Boston, Massachusetts, becoming the first of Laura's ancestors to pioneer America.
