. Platform 2 is used for the express, non-stop service to Great Victoria Street. This means journey times between Lisburn and Great Victoria Street are reduced to only 11 minutes at peak times, which has attracted many more commuters than before. Despite the timetable stating the time between the two station non-stop as 11 minutes, some trains can achieve the journey in as little as 8 minutes; an average speed of around 60 mph.

NI Digital Film Archive

The NI Digital Film Archive holds a clip of black and white film. It was made in 1897 and was filmed from a moving train going through Lisburn Railway Station on the way from Belfast to Kingstown (now Dun Laoghaire), Dublin. The name of the station can be seen and in addition, the view includes the platform, train carriages, station buildings and large houses along the length of North Circular Road, Lisburn.

Former Services

Until 2003 Lisburn also used to be a stop off for the Derry line before trains stopped at Knockmore further down the line but the reopening of the Bleach Green route (closed in 1978, reopened in 2001) which provided faster services from Derry to Belfast and vice versa the route from Knockmore
