. He spent his boyhood in Gyeongju
, and he graduated from Gyeongju Middle School (hangul: 경주중학교).
He debuted in 1978 with The River Knows (hangul: 저 강은 알고있다) that covers the Vietnam War. His major works include A Daunting Team (hangul: 공포의 외인구단), Mythology of the Heavens (hangul: 천국의 신화), Ring of Hell (hangul: 지옥의 링), Nambul : War Stories (hangul: 남벌; hanja: 南伐), Armageddon
