. When Sun Quan took Lady Xu as another wife later, he wanted to demote Xie's status to below that of Xu. Xie refused and fell into depression. She died at a young age.

More than ten years later, Lady Xie's younger brother Xie Cheng (謝承) was appointed Gentleman of Five Officials. He moved to the eastern part of Changsha later to take up his new appointments as Commandant and Administrator of Wuling
