. She released her debut album, A Girl of Few Words on 2 October 2006. After joining the team at Speckulation she released her second album titled, "No Space For Air" in the Summer of 2010. She is currently starring as Sister Mary Robert, in the first UK tour of Sister Act the musical. Performances begin September 29, 2011.

Training

Atherton grew up in Preston, England and started her training at Cardinal Newman College before moving to Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts

Personal life / Current and future projects

Julie is signed to Speckulation entrainment, who produced her second CD and organise her tours.

Since leaving Avenue Q, Atherton has starred in various productions, like Ordinary Days. She has performed at the Great British Musical show in the West End. Atherton has also performed in West End Live, a showcase which takes place the third weekend in June and is now in its third year. On June 5, she put on an acoustic session to mark the one-year release of her album.

Then in her largest ever gig Julie performed at the Apollo Theatre in London on the June 26, performing hits from her second CD as well as reuniting and performing with Danny Boys and Kate Monster, as well as special guests Tom Parsons on guitar and Richard Fleshman, Michael Bruce and Lance Horne.

From 29 September 2011, Julie will play the role of Sister Mary Robert in the first UK tour of Sister Act the musical. Sister Act is touring throughout the UK and Ireland.

A Girl of Few Words

Atherton released her first solo album on October 3, 2006. The music was composed by Charles Miller with lyrics by Kevin Hammonds and Adam Bard.
