Jules Maidoff is an American
artist
. He was born in 1933, New York City
. Since 1973 has lived and worked in Tuscany
, between Florence
and Pian di Sco', near Arezzo.
and the City College of New York
where he got his degree in 1956. Maidoff defines this period as the one of a Bronx emigrant in Manhattan. In 1956 and 1957 he went to Italy on a Fulbright
grant and came back to do postgraduate studies at New York University in 1957-58. He held many exhibitions during this period and worked in graphic design and advertising. Many of his works have been bought by important museums (Riverside museum, Brandeis University Museum, New York University Museum) and by many famous personalities such as Robert Joffrey

, Ravi Shankar
, Mick Jagger
, and many more.
By the end of the 60's he returned to Tuscany, moving there definitely in 1973. Jules Maidoff was forty years old then and he was leaving behind his graphic design and commercial work to wholly dedicate himself to painting. In 1975 he is one of the founding members of the Studio Art centers International (SACI
) in Florence where he worked as a teacher and director. Up to today jules Maidoff has held more than 100 exhibitions worldwide.
