The Jockey Club Cup used to be held during Newmarket's Cambridgeshire Meeting in late September or early October. Between 2000 and 2010 it was staged on Newmarket's Champions' Day in mid October. In 2011 it was transferred to the new Champions' Day at Ascot and renamed the British Champions Long Distance Cup.
