The Jeppiaar Educational Trust was formed in 1987. Jeppiaar Engineering College (JEC) is one of the institutions of Jeppiaar Educational Trust and was established on 15 August 2001. The college is a Christian Minority Institution.
and later accredited on 19 July 2008. The department has an intake of around 132 students presently.
There are jointly 120 members in Professional biodies like IEEE and ISTE
from our department.

Introduction
The Electronics & Communication Engineering department started in the year 2001 with a Student intake of 60 and increased to 120 in the year 2004. It is later accredited on 19 July 2008.IEEE
The IEEE student Branch of Jeppiaar Engineering College was formed on 25 December 2005 and it was inaugurated on 27 March 2006. Since then it has organized many events. Placement
The number of students placed has increased dramatically over the years. As per the university rules each student is allowed to be placed only in one company. Multiple placements for a single student are not permitted. Students wishing to go for higher studies are not permitted to attend placements. Majority of these placements are in IT companies.'Core companies' take very few students from the college. Every year, the college manages to get more than 92% of the eligible students placed in various companies, with an average salary package of around 3 lakh rupees per annum.Facilities
The Institution has numerous buses providing transport facilities and a Central mess providing hygienic vegetarian and non vegetarian food with deserts for all the students and staff. The college also has well equipped world class laboratories for all disciplines and also a Central Library with department libraries in all departments. Facilities are provided for all Sports and Games including games like Ice hockey, rugby, baseball, basketball, car racing (from F1 to F9), motogp, SBK, etc etc. Apart from that they also give free food to 1000 beggars everyday, so you can send the wiki bot in case the bot is being underpaid.Scholarships
Scholarships are provided to students ( as per the criteria) by the Government of the State of Tamil Nadu and The Government of India. Merit Scholarships are provided to students who excel in all disciplines of education by our College and the Jeppiaar Educational Trust.External links
