Iran Gas Trunkline

Iran Gas Trunkline is the series of large diameter pipelines constructed from gas producing areas in the south of Iran (Kuzestan and Bushehr Provinces) in order to transfer natural gas to the consumption centres in northern part of the country.

As of 2008 there are five trunkline in operation, two under construction and two under planning.

  • IGAT5, 56 inches (1,422.4 mm) in diameter, transfers sour gas produced in phases 6, 7 and 8 to Khūzestān Province to be injected into the oil wells.
