 farmed at Hillhall for seven generations, they had about 50 acres (202,343 m²) leased from the Marquis of Downshire and a further 10 acres (40,468.6 m²) from the Hertford estate. Today the family burial plot can still be found in Derriaghy Parish Churchyard.
