in 1873, 1874 and 1875 and he rowed at number seven in 1876. Much of his later cricket was played for Henley C.C. and the MCC. He was due to tour India
with Vernon's team in the winter of 1889/90.
However, just before he was due to leave he suffered a fatal accident, when he fell from a hotel balcony (not from his horse, as is widely reported) and died in Dover
