At drama school, she dated a man five years her senior who ran off and married her then best friend. "He was my first big love. I just wanted to be a housewife... I would have given up everything for him." "What happened forced me to grow up and as a result I have had a lot more experiences than I would have had I stayed with him." However, at the time of this interview she wasn't publicly out as gay and for long time she feared that coming out would have negative impact on her career.
