Personal life

Gauss was married to his wife Kathleen for over 30 years, the couple had three sons Paul,Sean and Ryan.

Death

On 31 October 2009 Gauss lost a three-year battle against brain cancer after diagnosed with the disease and undergoing a 12 hour operation a week before Christmas 2006. The Canadian Soccer League honoured him with the Harry Paul Gauss Award for the person in the Canadian Soccer League which, in the season just past demonstrated ‘exemplary support, commitment and allegiance’.
