HAS Den Bosch is a relatively small, independent University of Applied Sciences, which is especially known for providing personal attention and support as well as professional supervision to its students. In 2009 there were around 1700 students enrolled at HAS Den Bosch, of which 60 are international and exchange students

History

On 13 October 1947 MLS (middelbare landbouwschool) was opened in Roermond

, and followed a year later by the MZS (middelbare landbouwschool). In 1956 the higher horticulture

 school was opened in Nijmegen, which became part of HAS (hogere agrarische scholen gemeenschap) which formed the KNBTB (Koninklijke Nederlandse Boeren- en Tuindersbond) in Den Bosch in 1962. This was the start of HAS Den Bosch as we know it today.

HAS KennisTransfer  is a partner of HAS Den Bosch which offers research and consultancy services, tailor-made training programs and courses for business and government organizations in the agribusiness and the food sector. HAS KennisTransfer offers (international) students of HAS Den Bosch to participate in their research projects as part of their graduation projects. Under the supervision of a consultant of HAS KennisTransfer the students can gain first-hand experience in conducting research on a professional level.

Stoas University of Applied Sciences and Teacher Education

Stoas University of Applied Sciences is a teacher training institute that trains students to become professionals in the transfer of knowledge in the agricultural and horticultural sectors. Stoas and the Green Business School of HAS Den Bosch jointly offer the Bachelor programme Floriculture & Floral Design as well as the one-year certificate programme in Floral Design & Marketing.

Anton Jurgens Institute

The Anton Jurgens Institute is a network organization, established by HAS Den Bosch, Wageningen UR and the companies Unilever, VION Food Group, Cargill and Biox Biosciences.
