 whose owner is a Patron of Greenpower. The national final in the middle Sunday of October currently (2011) attracts some 70 cars from all over Britain.

Goblin Car Kit

The Goblin Kit Car is offered by the Greenpower project as a suitable platform for primary school children aged 7-11. The kit includes all parts and components required to build a complete car - except for the seat and bodywork which is left to the creativity of the team.

The motor, battery and charger, together with comprehensive instructions are included Only basic hand tools are required to assemble the kit, which can be dismounted at the end of the season and reused by another group.

Price about £1000 1200€  (Summer 2011=950 GBP+Tax)

Formula 24 Car Kit

The Formula 24 Kit Car. provid a simple, functional route into Greenpower racing for young people aged 11 – 16 at secondary school or in vocational training programs . The kit car features a fully welded steel space frame chassis , Ackermann steering geometry, 20” (c.51cm) wheels with free running hubs and disk brakes The 24V motor and batteries are included

The assembly should take approximately 15 hours, and when done correctly the vehicle is fully compliant with current Formula 24/24+ specifications;The first year entry fee is also included in the price of about £3000

Formula24+ Tertiary Education Challenge

IET Formula 24+ is for young people aged 16 – 25 and is all about designing and building an electric car with one standard 24volt, 240 watt DC Fracmo electric motor supplied by Greenpower which is sealed and must not be modified. The vehicle traction and control must be powered by a pair of 12V MRT35T car batteries although auxiliary batteries for other functions are permitted.

The rules impose strict technical regulations which do not restrict creativity.

Any group of young people that fall into the age category can enter the Greenpower competition as a team (including units sponsored by private companies or public organizations such as primary schools and colleges, Institutes of secondary education, and also older people in youth groups, and universities etc.

The race

The season consists of eight Championship rounds that are each of 90 minutes duration. Teams must enter at least three events two of which may be local, and the third or Final Round which is at Goodwood Motor Circuit and usually held during October. A team's top three results determine their position in the final championship table.
