Gail uses a technique that involves cutting, folding and embossing paper to create her image, she then photographs or scans the images and finally compiles them in Photoshop. Gail is currently represented by the illustration agency Illustration Web.

She then spent several years working as a freelance designer and illustrator as well as a part time lecturer in art and design at various institutions on a variety of courses, including as a course leader and internal verifier. As She became more established as an illustrator she gradually moved away from Graphic design and ultimately the teaching in order to concentrate solely on the illustration work.
