Layoffs
In 2009 Fish & Richardson closed its corporate practice and laid off 100 employees. (Legal blog AbovetheLaw.com reported different layoff numbers, with the amount at 120, citing an internal communication which stated 35 attorneys and 85 staff were laid off).
