 which culminated in August 1983 when 13 people fasted in several cities from 6 August, anniversary of Hiroshima

These were followed by thousands people which fasted a few days, and important supporting demonstrations.

People stopped their fast after 40 days. In France

The direct resultat of this movement was not very clear, but it created an important dynamisation of antinuclear movements. Many actions have used this fast as a reference, specially in France, the Walk for Life, in 1984.

The International Fast For Life was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize.
