History

Fairfield Primary School first opened on 13 April 1953, and was officially opened by County Alderman, R.A. Thomas on 20 May 1953.

The school celebrated its 50 year anniversary in 2003 marking the occasion with various events, notably a public exhibition of photograph

Approximately 250 pupils attend the school, although it has a small catchment area

The school is well equipped with computer facilities and internet access which are used by all ages. The school also operates a Junior Lending Library with the support of parent helpers and a Junior reference library with internet links and an Infant Library area.
