The reasons were that the underpass had a low clearance level (therefore, getting trucks stuck) and to prevent future thru-traffic through Jamesburg. Since at least June 2007, Possum Hollow Road was changed to Links Drive.

Route 619 (Butcher Road) begins at an intersection with Disbrow Hill Road on the Monmouth-Middlesex County border in Monroe Township. History
Prior to 2002, Route 619 extended further north along Possum Hollow Road (north of CR 612). It went underneath the railroad track, and ended at Docks Corner Road (CR 698) at the border of JamesburgJamesburg, New Jersey
