The focal point of this festival is the Doherty Hotel, where guests find lodging conveniently located in the center of downtown Clare. Visitors will also find, across from the street from the Doherty Hotel, the Ideal Theater. Built in the late 1920s, it was the first movie theater in Clare County, and has remained in it original state to show what an older style movie theater used to be like. New shows are brought to the theater about every week, with previews of what is to come in the following weeks. The price per person is $4.00 per show, with the concession stand being extra. Across from Hotel Doherty, the Clare City Bakery since 1896 stood and effective July 1, 2009, became, Cops and Doughnuts. It is owned and operated by the 9-member Clare Police Department. (http://www.copsdoughnuts.com/) Clare's downtown is a designated Main Street Cool Cities Community.
