Chicken Express was established in 1988 by Stuart Group Inc. A corporation established by Richard and Nancy Stuart which now does business as "Chicken Express." The concept for the restaurant was born in 1988 in Benbrook, Texas

Present Day

The restaurant focuses primarily on Fried chicken, Catfish, and chicken tenders but also serves sides. Such as fried pickle slices, corn on the cob, apple pie, mashed potatoes, fried okra, gravy, cheese sticks, cole slaw, french fries, corn nuggets, mini poppers, green beans,and jalapenos. They are also known or their Iced Tea of which they sell gallon jugs. Chicken Express operates over 160 locations in Texas
