Geography

Cedar Campus is located in Prentiss Bay on Lake Huron

. It is a couple miles east of Port Dolomite quarry on M-134. It is mostly wooded area. Old Mill Point and Mariner's Cove are located across the bay from each other. Both sides have small beaches for boating and wading and there is another bigger beach called Sandy Cove that is separated from Prentiss Bay by Whitefish Point and is directly connected to Lake Huron.

History

. As a result there is a lot of driftwood. Cedar Campus was started about 1954 with the North Shore Area. North Shore is now joined with Mariner's Cove and Old Mill Point.Cedar Campus might be most famous for the exact geography of C.S. Lewis's Chronicles of Narnia.

Old Mill Point

Old Mill Point is on the west side of Prentiss Bay. It is mostly in the Inner Bay and is where most of the boats are moored. It is also home of Sandy Cove, Narnia, and Whitefish Point.

Willoughby Lodge
Willoughby Lodge is the main building at Old Mill Point and is home to the dining hall.

Cabins
Cedar Campus is home to cabins for people who don't mind a short walk to breakfast. The cabins include Deck, Bayview, Beach, Spruceveiw, Harwood, Deer Trail, Gnomes Home and Elf Shelve (duplex), and Cedar Nook. There are also ten Point Cabins that are right before the Whitefish Point Trail.

Mariner's Cove

Mariner's Cove is located across the bay to the east of Old Mill Point. It is home to Taylor Lodge, Gloria Taylor, Four Anchors, Southwind, Forbrich, and other cabins. The recreational building is the McClure Center. There are several themes instilled in Cedar Campus locations and attractions such as names derived from C.S. Lewis's The Chronicles of Narnia

Recreation

Boating
Boating is popular at Cedar Campus, both large boats and small boats. Both sides once had a mainly canoe

 fleet of small boats but replaced most oof them with kayaks. Sunfish sailboats are also very popular and regattas are often held. Larger boats include the Dawn Treader, a large sailboat which is sailed by the rec crew, and the Floating Bear which is used to ferry People across the bay to the other side.

Hiking
Hiking trails include Narnia, Gnomes Rock Trail, Whitefish Point Trail, and Birch Trail. Narnia is a long trail but is rewarding at the end. Gnomes Rock Trail branches off of the Whitefish Point Trail and goes to Gnomes Rock, a large rock full of holes where people place painted rocks called Gnomes. Whitefish Point Trail goes in a loop to the end of the point and back. Birch Trail is a trail that goes to Sandy Cove.

Other
There is also a wood fueled sauna at Old Mill Point. Old Mill Point also has H.J. Taylor Pool. Both sides have rec halls with table games like foosball

Traditions

Large groups of campers return annually and some have been going continuously for a while. One tradition is ringing a bell for meal times. A tradition at Willoughby Lodge is hanging the college pennants from students who attend camp. Mariner cove traditions include tournaments for numerous games, capture the flag at night, candy count, jersey mudds, coffee house, polar bear plunge, crafts, and "out day".
