The series tells the story of an orphaned boy Catch Kandy and his sister Kate Kandy who, as the series begins, are living with their uncle. Their uncle, however, invariably maltreats them and this ultimately incites Catch to strike out with a frying pan, causing his uncle to fall and knock himself unconscious.
