Core academic classes

Classes at Camden Middle School are on the period system and run for an entire year. Students two related arts classes are changed each nine weeks.

As of 2008, each academic grade level is departmentalized. Students are put in classes based on scheduling and academic level, among other factors. Accelerated, as well as remedial, classes are available. Each academic class is approximately 50 minutes each day.

Students in English classes have an opportunity to take a courses based on their ability and readiness, one of which provides high school credit in the 8th grade. Math students can take Pre-Algebra or Algebra I in 8th grade. Algebra I provides high school credit.
