In the 2001 assembly elections of West Bengal, BBC contested the Sabong seat in Midnapore and its candidate Tushar Kanti Laya won it. In the 2005 Kolkata Municipal polls, BBC has contested 1 seat as part of Left Front. Its candidate Rita Chowdhury has been elected from ward no 41.She has retained her seat in 2010 municipal polls as well. Mr. Gouranga Samanta, Dr Makhanlal Bangal & Dr. Tushar Laya were MLA of Biplobi Bangla Congress.

Mr. Gouranga Samanta was elected in West Bengal State assembly three times as a Biplobi Bangla Congress candidate. The flag of the party is red & white (3:1 ratio)with Hammer & Plough symbol. Mr. Sunil Chaudhury is the General Secretary of the party. Important leaders are Mr. Deepak Sen Roy, Dr. Umesh Choudhury, Mr. Prajapoti Barman.
