were the only applicant for the licence when the multiplex was offered in October 1999 and awarded on 6 April 2000.
The multiplex was initially branded as "EMAP Leeds", but was relabelled due to Bauer Media Group buying Emap's consumer media interests in 2007.
The Norwood Ridge transmitter listed on EMAP's application is another name for Hunter's Stones.
It was initially stated that once the adoption of DAB radio
s had reached 32% in the local area, two other transmitters at Birkwood Farm and Collingham would be introduced; however, this move never happened.
Most of these stations are also available on Bauer Humberside
& Bauer South Yorkshire
, though Radio Aire and Magic are replaced by local stations Viking FM (Humberside), Hallam FM
(South Yorkshire) and the relevant Magic
service for each area. It is expected that the three platforms would eventually be merged into a second regional licence.
