Real Radio Yorkshire is an independent local radio station that broadcasts across South and West Yorkshire. It is the third regional radio station within the Real Radio brand (the first being in South Wales). The managing director for the station is Steve South. While ostensibly aimed at all ages, it is clear from the musical policy of the station that the average age of the listener is 25+. The station plays music from the 70s to present, predominantly ballads, love songs and middle of the road rock and pop. The station transmits from Emley Moor on 106.2 MHz FM, which covers the majority of South Yorkshire and West Yorkshire, including Leeds, York, Doncaster, Huddersfield and Rotherham. It also broadcasts from Idle on 107.6 MHz FM to Bradford and Halifax, and on 107.7 MHz FM from Tapton Hill to Sheffield. ==Programming== Local presenters broadcast from Real Radio Yorkshire's main studios are based in Tingley, in the City of Leeds, West Yorkshire. The majority of networked output is broadcast from 105.4 Real Radio based in Manchester. The Vodafone Big Top 40 is a networked chart show and is produced by Global Radio at their Capital studios in Leicester Square, London. On Air with Ryan Seacrest is a syndicated production produced at KIIS-FM in Los Angeles. ===Real News team=== Real Radio Yorkshire has their own dedicated team of broadcast journalists, however weekday evening and weekend news bulletins are networked from sister station Real Radio in Manchester.
