. Aubrey has been secretly speaking to a mystery person over the phone about her day to day activities, mainly considering Joey and his family. It was revealed that she even had a picture of herself and another man in a recent issue of a French Magazine. She tries everything to make sure Joey does not see the picture and even goes as far as to buy every copy of the magazine. On the New Year's Eve episode that aired on December 29, 2010, Aubrey even tried really hard to take the last copy that Kelly had, and succeeded. She goes back to her hotel room (faking an illness), and begins to burn the ripped out page that contained the picture. However, she is interrupted by a knock on the door. She then takes the picture and puts it back into the magazine and puts the magazine underneath the couch. She opens up the door, and the man that she is with in the picture is standing at her door. When the New Year hits, they kiss and make out on the couch. It is unknown whether or not Aubrey and the new man are a couple, and Joey has no idea about any of this. The new man is Aubrey's lover, Cutter Wentworth

, a con-artist who disguises himself as her brother, and it's also revealed that Aubrey is also a con-artist as well! Their mission is to bilk the Buchanan fortune out of Aubrey's fiance Joey. Cutter starts to become suspicious at first that Aubrey was starting to fall in love with her mark Joey, but Aubrey denied it, saying that she was still committed to their con-job, and that Joey wouldn't come between them. In February 2011, Aubrey and Joey marry each other despite lack of support from their friends and family. After she volunteered to take custody of Tess/Jessica Buchanan's

son Ryder with Joey when Jessica was suffering from a relapse of her DID mental illness two months later however, Aubrey finally confirmed Cutter's suspicions that she has fallen for Joey, and Cutter and Aubrey broke up for good.

Scam exposed and aftermath

In May 2011, Joey finally learns the truth, and vows to divorce Aubrey as soon as Ryder is returned to Jessica when she is fully integrated, so he can be with Kelly, who he realizes he truly loves. A month later, after Ford breaks out Jessica out of St. Ann's and finally gets integrated, Joey kicks Aubrey out of the Llanfair estate (where they were residing in at the time after Cutter kicked them out of the Buchanan Mansion after he extorted the place from Clint along with the piece of the family fortune in exchange for committing Tess/Jessica into St. Ann's), and tells her that their marriage is over for good. Aubrey later asks Cutter to move into the Buchanan Mansion, but he is reluctant to because he still doesn't forgive Aubrey for falling in love with her mark Joey. After Aubrey fights with Cutter about all of his other previous affairs in the past with different women for their money, and Aubrey spilling the beans about her best friend Rama Patel's fake pregnancy (Rama blackmailed Aubrey to expose her real identity to move into the mansion) after Rama's husband Vimal Patel (who also moved into the mansion when Cutter asked him to move in after he was released from prison from being exonerated for charges of switching DNA results for Jessica Buchanan

's heart to his father. Aubrey then moves into the Minute Man Motel where Rama later joins her in her motel room after discovering that she was kicked out of the mansion along with Cutter, who also moves in with them after he got kicked out of the mansion to stay at their motel room after Renee Divine Buchanan had him not only banned from the Palace Hotel, but also banned from all the other hotels in Llanview. Cutter also admits to Aubrey that the Buchanans also took back most of the money that they paid him since he didn't stash most of the cash in the bank, leaving Cutter broke and almost out of money. On July 21, 2011, Joey and Aubrey are officially divorced from each other when Joey delivers divorce papers to her motel room. On August 16, 2011, Cutter convinces Aubrey to make the newly wealthy Rex her next mark while they are hanging out at the Capricorn nightclub. When Aubrey tries to seduce Rex, he doesn't pay any attention to her because he is obsessed about a clue he got from psychic Madame Delphina about a "spotted pony" (which could be related to Rex being haunted by Gigi's ghost). When Aubrey tells Cutter about the "spotted pony" clue before she leaves the club, he figures out secretly by himself that the clue refers to The Spotted Pony strip club in Anchorage, Kentucky, which is related to a secret in Cutter's past.

Aubrey's identity revealed and saying goodbye to Joey

On August 19, 2011, Aubrey packs her bags at her motel room in preparation of leaving town when Cutter returns and asks her not leave him. Aubrey tells Cutter that she doesn't want to be part of his scams anymore and heads out the door but stops dead in her tracks when Cutter calls her by her real name, Christine Karr. The two discuss their past and Cutter tries to assure Aubrey that Joey was their last mark. Cutter blames himself for Aubrey falling for Joey. Aubrey then decides to stay with Cutter until she can get back on her feet. Cutter points out the irony that after all the scams they've pulled, they ended up in the exact opposite type of room that he always envisioned them in their lives. On August 23, 2011, Aubrey gives back her engagement ring to Joey, and then learns from him that he is leaving Llanview with Kelly to go back to London to be closer to Kelly's son Zane Buchanan. Joey then gives back the ring to Aubrey to still keep because he gave the ring to her in "good faith", despite Aubrey originally marrying him for his money. Aubrey then wishes Joey well with his rekindled romantic relationship with Kelly, and says good-bye to Joey before he leaves town with Kelly by giving Joey an emotional goodbye hug.

Discovering the real Aubrey Wentworth and her relationship with Rex

On September 2, 2011, Aubrey finds out that Cutter got a job as a front desk clerk at The Minute Man Motel. Cutter told Aubrey he got the job for her so that he could turn over a new leaf. Aubrey and Cutter then rekindle their romantic relationship by making love to each other before Cutter goes to work. Aubrey then goes over to The Buenos Dias Cafe and tells Rama that she got back together with Cutter and is thinking about getting a job herself and changing her name. However, she still wants to use the name Aubrey unaware that it's Kimberly Andrews' real name, when Cutter calls Kim "Aubrey" when he first sees her when she arrives at his motel room when Cutter opens the door to go to work. Rama tells Aubrey that the real Aubrey was her roommate at their French boarding school and Cutter's sister, and that she stole money from her to pay for her plastic surgery. Rama also told her that she later tracked down the real Aubrey and Cutter at The Spotted Pony in Kentucky, but Rama left out certain details of what she found out about the real Aubrey and Cutter's secret at The Spotted Pony by lying to Aubrey that the real Aubrey and Cutter left The Spotted Pony when she got there to confront the real Aubrey. On September 12, 2011, Aubrey got a visit from Kim, where Kim told Aubrey that she was the real Aubrey and Cutter's sister, and that she got plastic surgery to improve her looks from the money that she stole from Rama. Cutter then arrived home with a stuffed beaver named Morris that he bought from the flea market outside in Angel Square as a gift for Aubrey, which once belonged to Roxy Balsom

. After Cutter saw Aubrey and Kim together, Cutter confessed to Aubrey that Kim was his former scamming partner, and that he worked with her to seduce rich men for their money, but they later parted ways with each other after they were exposed as con artists after the incident at the Spotted Pony. Cutter would also confess to Aubrey that Kim had a sick friend she was taking care of at the hospital in Kentucky. After Kim left, Aubrey and Cutter discovered that there was a gun inside Morris that fell out of his bottom. They soon figured out that the gun belong to Rex, who was one of the suspects for the murder of Victor Lord Jr.. Cutter is tempted to use Rex's gun to blackmail him for the Buchanan fortune, but Aubrey convinces him to turn over the gun to the police. Cutter agrees, but after Aubrey leaves him to go to a job interview, Cutter goes against Aubrey wishes and puts the gun back inside the beaver. The next day, Aubrey tells Cutter that she is considered for a job at the Capricorn nightclub, and asked him if he turned the gun over to the police. Cutter lies to Aubrey and said that he did, with Aubrey unaware that the gun is still inside the beaver. After Cutter returns home from work though, Aubrey then comes home to bring them supper and finds that the gun is gone from inside the beaver. Aubrey thinks that Cutter really did turn over Rex's gun to the police, and Cutter still lies to her and told her that he did what she told him to do about the gun. Cutter then starts to panic about the missing gun and figures out that Kim was the one who stole the gun so that she could use it to blackmail Rex via her biological mother Echo DiSavoy

that Rex's gun was never turned over to the police while she was talking to him at her new bartending job at the Capricorn. Aubrey then confronted Cutter and told him that she was breaking up with him because he lied about what he really did with Rex's gun, and that she came to the conclusion that he would never change his grifting ways. Aubrey also kicked Cutter out of their motel room and told him that she never wanted to see him again. After Cutter left the club, Aubrey later confessed to Bo that she and Cutter discovered Rex's gun after they both found it hidden inside Roxy's stuffed beaver Morris after the gun fell out of his bottom. Aubrey also confided to Rama about her breakup with Cutter. On October 18, 2011, Aubrey starts to bond with Rex when she apologized for ratting him out about his gun to Bo, and to help him out to plan Brody and Natalie's engagement party since she used to work for a party planner. They also share the fact that both of them used to be con artists. On October 21, Aubrey visits Rex at his office at Buchanan Enterprises where he tells Rex that she decides on a costume theme party for Natalie and Brody's engagement party since it falls on Halloween. Rex tells her that he plans on giving back the Buchanan fortune to his father Clint, and that he and Shane could still stay at the Buchanan Mansion. Aubrey is impressed by Rex's generosity, since he blackmailed Clint for his fortune so that he could get revenge for Gigi's death by going after Victor Jr. and his son Jack Manning

. Aubrey also tells Rex that Cutter is planning on blackmailing him for the Buchanan fortune. After Aubrey leaves the office, she finds Cutter, who figures out that she's getting close to Rex, and that she knows he is planning on scamming Rex for his money. On October 25, Aubrey finds Rex at the Buchanan Mansion all beat up with cuts and bruises from his fight with Cutter, and Aubrey tended to his wounds. Rex then told Aubrey about Cutter using Gigi as leverage to get his hands on the Buchanan fortune. Aubrey thinks Cutter's latest scam is a new low for him to get his wealthy payday. Rex, along with his son Shane, then decides to invite Aubrey in their plan to dress up as The Three Musketeers at Brody and Natalie's costume themed engagement party on Halloween. Rex and Shane decided on those particular costumes for them because Gigi wanted her, Rex, and Shane to dress up as The Three Musketeers because it was what Gigi wanted to dress them up in for that holiday before her death. The next morning, Aubrey confronts Cutter at his motel room at The Minute Man, saying she already knows his plan that he's using Rex's dead fiancée Gigi to scam him for the Buchanan fortune. Cutter then accuses Aubrey of scamming Rex herself, which she denies, saying she's planning a costume themed engagement party for Brody and Natalie at the Buchanan Mansion on Halloween night before she leaves him to go back to the mansion. On the night of the enagagement party on halloween, Natalie thanks her for planning the party, but warns her not to get involved with Rex because of the way she broke Joey's heart by scamming him for his money. Aubrey denies trying to get into a relationship with Rex. Aubrey then sees a man in a mummy costume and gets a hold of his loose bandages, when the man suddenly falls down, and some of his bandages comes off revealing his bare torso. Aubrey the recognizes the man's nipples and abs, and later goes to the stables to unmask the guy, where its revealed that he's Cutter! Rex then enters the stables where they also find Cutter accompanied by a masked woman dressed as Little Red Riding Hood, and Rex and Aubrey foils Cutter's latest scam. The next day, Aubrey arrives at the Foxy Roxy's hair salon where she discovers that Rama is giving Cutter a pedicure. Cutter then leaves the salon after Aubrey arrives, and Aubrey then confronts Rama for hanging out with her ex-boyfriend. Rama tells Aubrey that she couldn't deny Cutter service because he is a paying customer. Rama then discovers that Aubrey has feelings for Rex, but Aubrey says that she denies having any feelings towards Rex because his fiance recently passed away before Rex enters the salon to interrupt their conversation. On November 17, Aubrey boards a plane with Rex to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil to help Rex locate Cutter and Kim's friend. Aubrey and Rex then arrives in Rio to a plastic surgeon's office to investigate Cutter and Gigi's imposter. Aubrey tried to distract the receptionist while Rex tried to break into the doctor's office. After Aubrey was unsucessful with distracting the receptionist, and Rex couldn't break into the room, the receptionist left to get security to escort them out of the building. Cutter eventually came out of the doctor's office with a mysterious woman covered up with bandages around her face. Aubrey then unwrappped the bandages off the woman's face, where it was revealed the she was Alex Olanov

, who Rex knew as Clint's former mother-in-law (Alex is also Cutter and Kim's mother, but Alex never told Rex and Aubrey that fact!). Alex lied to both Rex and Aubrey, saying that she teamed up with Cutter to pretend to be Gigi so that she could get her share of the Buchanan fortune with Cutter. Rex believed their story, much to the dismay of Aubrey, who didn't believe their lies. Rex told Cutter and Alex that he never wanted to be like them, and that he already accepted Gigi's death. The receptionist then came back to the office with a security guard, but Cutter told the receptionist that they didn't need to be escorted out of the building because he knew them personally. After Aubrey and Rex left the office, Rex then revealed to Aubrey that he never actually fell for Alex and Cutter's lies, because he pretended to believe them so that he could let Cutter's guard down. Rex then vowed to Aubrey that he wouldn't leave Rio until he could get down to the bottom of Cutter's scam with Kim's friend.
