, State-level choir, and a superior, award-winning marching band and concert band (the "Sound of the Valley"), which has met the requirements and passed in the state contest among concert bands in Alabama for 4 years as of April 2007. The School sends students to the Calhoun County Spelling Bee, and has produced several county champions. Students of grades 7 through 12 from Alexandria have competed in math tournaments, including the annual Calhoun County (AL) Schools Math Tournament. The official student-produced annual yearbook is called, "The Alexandrian." The "Frank Little Memorial Botanical Garden" is found adjacent to the new basketball gymnasium.
