History

Agia Paraskevi was originally known under the name of "Sveta Petka" in the Bulgarian/Macedonian language, but was changed to its Greek equivalent of "Agia Paraskevi", on December 21, 1918. The village is said to have been settled in the 1400s, and was originally one with the villages of Dragoš (in modern day Republic of Macedonia

) and Opširina (modern day Ethnikon, Florina, Greece).

On the 1914 Electoral Census of Agia Paraskevi, it indicates the first & last names, occupations, and their fathers' name of the male villagers. The surnames on the census are not the villagers' originall last names, for example: The "Opašinov" surname was changed to "Smardenkas", and the "Čekoutanov" surname was changed to "Tsekoutanis".
