Haibin scored his first goal for the club on July 31, 2003 in a league game with Shenyang Jinde. He has featured regularly with Shandong Luneng Taishan since 2003 and is considered one of their star players.

On February 7, 2009, PSV Eindhoven officially confirmed the capture of Zhou Haibin on a free transfer on their official website. He signed a one year deal with an option for a further 2 and half year contract extension, and is available to play for PSV immediately. On October 7, 2009, PSV manager Fred Rutten announced in an interview with AD
that the club would not extend Zhou's contract at the end of the current deal, and he was officially released on December 28.
