PSV Eindhoven

Zhou joined PSV Eindhoven in February 2009 on a free transfer from Shandong Luneng. There were some issues however between PSV and the KNVB on one side and the Chinese Football Association, the latter having the right to hold released players for 30 more months.

On February 7, 2009, PSV Eindhoven officially confirmed the capture of Zhou Haibin on a free transfer on their official website. He signed a one year deal with an option for a further 2 and half year contract extension, and is available to play for PSV immediately. Zhou Haibin is a defensive midfielder. He plays best in the center of the midfield as a defensive midfielder, but can also play on the right, or as a playmaker. . Having emerged from their youth academy, Zhou has been a fan favorite for Shandong Luneng Taishan although some fans have shown discontent at the way he left the club for PSV Eindhoven. Zhou has often been touted as one of the best young talents in China, and a future star for the national squad.
