It was actually first launched in the year 1996, but was taken off air within two months due to its poor popularity. It was relaunched as Alpha Bangla in the year 1999. It ran for successfully for six years. In 2005, Zee TV
went for a major brand revamp. It unveiled a new logo on 27 March 2005 at the Zee Cine Awards
and thereafter Alpha Bangla became Zee Bangla with a modified version of the new and current Zee TV
logo which is also used by other regional channels of Zee Network
