. The band consists of Paul Taite (Vocals and bass guitar), Adam Leggett (lead guitar/vocals) and Steve Taite (drums/vocals). They have released one full-length eleven track album to date.

Inspiration from Richard O'Brien (2001)

In 2001 Paul was carrying gear for 60 Minutes to film a documentary on The Rocky Horror Show

 about music, Richard subsequently suggested to Paul that he start to write his own music as most musicians never do. Paul was inspired to begin working on his own material.

This Time (2008)

During the 2nd half of 2007 - Paul, Adam & Steve originally set forth an objective to record a couple of tracks on their Powerbook G4 laptop using the internal mic for vox/drums and the line in for guitars/bass. Once they started recording they couldn't stop and recorded This Time the bands debut album on weekends over a period of 8 months. Three quarters of the album was actually written during the recording process as the momentum grew additional tracks were spawned! The final product was released on June 21, 2008 and was recorded and produced by band in the front room of their Ponsonby flat (bar One More Try). Garageband

Relocation to London (2008)

The time had come for the band to try their luck internationally and to relocate to London in the hope of playing shows and establishing an U.K fanbase. Yesterday Was Mine had their farewell New Zealand show at the Masonic Tavern in Devonport on the 16th May 2008. 'This Time' was released a few weeks before the band departed for London.

London life (2009)

Yesterday Was Mine re-emerged to headline their debut show on 24 March 2009 on London's Kilburn High Road. They have been loving every second of London and have got used to carrying gear through tube stations instead of driving. Yesterday Was Mine appeared in the NME dated May 2009 with the NME describing Yesterday Was Mine as 'Kiwi ex-pat Punk Rockers!! YWM also provided their services free to play a sell out charity concert for 'Children's Hopsices UK' which raised £1,952.00!. The band have been putting their mark on the London music scene playing gigs in historic London settings such as Piccadilly Circus, Soho, Shaftesbury Avenue, Shoreditch and Brick Lane.

New Album + Thomas Krygier collaboration (2010)

The band have been working on new material for their next album, self proclaimed 'YWM inking sessions' have been taking place most recently at a freezing cold flat in Warwick Avenue. The first half of the new album has been written with the remaining half to be finished by the first quarter and to start recording at a London studio by mid 2010. By chance Paul happened to chat to Thomas Krygier, an accomplished film director who in the past had directed music videos for Skunk Anansie

. With the music video for Hedonism (Just Because You Feel Good) being one of them. Thomas had written song lyrics and asked if Paul could put a song behind it, the collaboraton being called 'Tricophrenic' and will be recorded with the album mid 2010. Live performance in 2010 so far have been in Camden, Clerkenwell and an upcoming venue in West Kensington that The Sex Pistols, The Jam and U2 have played!!.

No Ice Warning (2011)

On the 29th of July the band released their 2nd album entitled "No Ice Warning" this was recorded in New York City and London, England. This album has a slightly darker tone than the original and follows a story progression throughout the album (similar to Green Days "American Idiot" or Pink Floyds "The Wall") It took six months to record on an apple Macbook Pro using Logic sound editing software, this was done in an apartment in New York's East Village, the drums for the were recorded in the Central London suburb of Maida Vale on an apple iMac. The album cover was photographed in Devesset, France. This was released as a free album.
