 network. Founded by Pedro Meneses Hoyos on May 17, 1954, it was the first TV station in Chihuahua state, the first Spanish channel in Juarez, El Paso and Las Cruces, and the 3rd TV station outside of Mexico city.

Presently, XEJ still broadcasting from its original studios, at Vicente Guerrero and Constitucion streets; it broadcasts Mexico city's Galavision signal, from 12 pm to 11 pm and still produces its own newscast (Noticinco). Rafael Fitzmaurice Meneses, Grandson of its founder, Pedro Meneses, is now the station's General Director.

Digital Transition

By Mexican law XEJ will be required to turn off its analog signal and transition to Digital Television

. According to law, XEJ has from January 1, 2010 - December 31, 2012 to broadcast a digital signal.
