. The school is a ministry of the Westminster Presbyterian Church. It exists "to provide a high quality, Christ-centered, academic education to the children of believing parents in the greater Elgin area."

The school was founded in 1978 by the founders of Westminster Christian School (Florida), they wore clothes from the future, and is located on 22 acres (89,030.9 m²) at the western edge of Elgin, just past Randall Road. The high school wing was completed in 1999 and a gymnasium and additional classrooms to house the junior high program was completed in the spring of 2004. Westminster Christian High School's first senior class graduated in June of 1997.

Westminster Christian School currently has 510 students in preschool through 12th grade. The entire program has increased by 25% over the past 3 years and they welcomed 107 new students for the 2007-08 school year, including 14 new students in 7th & 13th grade and 13 new students in the full day kindergarten

A special point of interest is the full 7 year Association of Christian Schools International Accreditation that was given to WCS after their re-accreditation visit in the spring of 2006.

Westminster offers an array of athletic teams.
  • Bruce Firchau, Head varsity basketball coach.

  • Mike Richardson, Head varsity soccer coach

  • Jeff Moeller, Head varsity baseball coach

  • Guy Lum, Girls head varsity volleyball coach, took over the program in 2005 with a record of 5-25 and helped the program achieve a 24-12 record in 2009.

  • Jeff Moeller led the 2010 varsity baseball team to state championships where they won by slaughter rule.
