Early career

Wayne Godwin turned pro in 2002 by being signed from his local club Knottingley Rockware to play for Castleford Tigers until the end of 2004, making over 60 appearances. Wayne signed a two-year deal with Wigan after Castleford's relegation at the end of Super League IX

Wayne signed for Bradford in 2008 and was the understudy to Terry Newton

On December 20 it was rumoured and all but confirmed in the League Express that he was going to join Salford Reds on a 3 year deal.

Salford City Reds

It was announced that Wayne Godwin had joined Salford due to their intended hooker Tevita Leo Latu being refused a visa despite currently playing for Wakefield in the Super League.
On Godwin's debut he scored a try vs Leigh Centurions but still lost 13-12, in his second game vs Wigan Warriors he didnt cross the line in Salford's 28-34 defeat against the current champions
