In mid-December, there was a merger between the Fresno Rebels and Washington Raptors teams, thus creating the Fresno-Washington Raptors Due to scheduling conflicts, the Raptors announced they would not play any more ABA games for the season effective January 5, 2009. However, the Raptors will return for 2009-10, returning to the Washington Raptors name and also owning ABA teams in the Washington cities of Everett
