Vijayakrishnan was a member of the Kerala State Film Award Committee and the Indian Panorama Selection Committee for Filmotsav 1986. At present (2011) he is a member of the Indian Film Censor Board, the Secretary of the Kerala Children's Film Society, and President of CONTACT.
