The Valand have several territorial divisions, such as the Soratia, Halai, Gohil, and Jalawadi. They are further divided into clans, called ataks, the main ones being the Solanki, Rathore, Vaghela and Parmar. The Valand are endogamous and practice clan exogamy. They speak Gujarati
