8-bit
The first widely adopted 8-bit microprocessor was the Intel 8080, being used in many hobbyist computers of the late 1970s and early 1980s, often running the CP/M operating system. The Zilog Z80 and the Motorola 6800 were also used in similar computers...

The variant UB880 corresponds to the original Z80 processor, the UA880 to a Z80A CPU and the VB880 to a Z80 version with extended temperature specification (-25°C to +85°C) for military and industrial applications. Reproductions of Zilog's peripheral components PIO (U 855), SIO (U 856), CTC (U 857), DMA (direct memory access) (U 858) and DART (U 8563) were also manufactured.
