Tundla is situated on NH2 which connects it to nearest major city of Agra, 24 km away.Tundla is a major railway junction in North Central Railway zone.Numerous trains ply from capital city New Delhi which is 200 km away and Agra.

Demographics

As of 2001 India census [GR|India], Tundla had a population of 40,336. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Tundla has an average literacy rate of 72%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 78%, and female literacy is 66%. In Tundla, 14% of the population is under 6 years of age.

( The oldest 1878 when Lt. Colonel Tundrox & Civil engineer Raphael C of East India railway built a challenging railway track midst of a jungle surrounded by crocodiles, panthers, Leopards surpassing Jamuna river in next 26 km, earlier he planned to cross yamuna 11 km ahead ( presently anwara) and go parallel to yamuna till Taj.

  • Jain Temples. The city has several beautiful Jain temples.
  • The Adinath Digamber Jain temple is one of the biggest and since being located very close to the national highway is a prominent landmark of Tundla.
  • Niyamatpur, a village 18km away from Tundla having way from National Highway-2 said to be the village of the royal family of Alwar princely state of Rajasthan. Royal family of Alwar can be found here.
