Tonya Reiman's interest in the topic of body language began in her first year of college at Pace University when a psychology

 professor came nose to nose with her in order to demonstrate the significance of "personal space". She has stated that following graduation from Pace University she began a decade of independent research of non-verbal communication. This was followed by a decade of training working with executives and staff in the financial industry. She also ran a small business for several years.
