's Top of the Pops. On 28 November 2003, Kash hosted his first episode of the show which coincided with one of its most radical overhauls in what was widely reported as a make-or-break attempt to revitalize the long-running series. In a break with the previous format, the show went live and played more up-and-coming tracks ahead of any chart success, also featuring sit-down interviews with artists and actors. The opening edition was also notable for holding a heavily publicised phone-in competition where viewers were asked to name Robbie William's first number one single, giving the choices 'Freedom', 'Angels' and 'Old Before I Die'. His first UK number one was actually Millennium, and later on in the show, the question was quietly re-worded to first "solo" hit, without making any references to the earlier error.
The much-vaunted re-launch of the show with Kash as host garnered very poor ratings, and was deemed a major embarrassment for the BBC, with viewing figures for the second week down by 1.2 million and many viewers and critics disliking both the new format and Kash.
He is also an Ambassador for MTV's Staying Alive Foundation.
Kash launched the BOOM! Music Video Academy in 2004, a scheme set up to inspire students (11-18yrs) to teach them the skills needed to produce music, videos and short films. The Academy has since been closed.

Early life

After spending some time working in A&R, Kash was hired by MTV UK and Ireland to work as a VJ, and began presenting MTV News in the U.K., and Europe in 2003.All New Top of the Pops

Philanthropy
Kash has been an Ambassador for the Prince's Trust, and a patron of Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital for 4 years and continues to work closely with them.He is also an Ambassador for MTV's Staying Alive Foundation.
