Career

Dakin trained for ordination at King's College, London and was ordained deacon in 1993, and priest in 1994. His first appointment was as Principal of the Church Army

training college in Nairobi, during which time he was also Assistant Curate at All Saints' Cathedral, Nairobi. He took up his appointment as General Secretary of CMS in 2000. His appointment as Bishop of Winchester was announced on 6 September 2011, and he will take up the role in Spring 2012.
