. The Wensleydale School opened in 1959, and became the community school for the whole of Wensleydale and beyond in 1971. Today it is an 11 – 18 Science Specialist school. The school is located on a spacious site and is developing some excellent specialist facilities, such as a new post 16 centre which opened in 2008. Students join from many schools, though the majority of students come from eight local primary schools. The School is a small community of approx. 500 students.
