History

Sheridan’s newspaper started in 1890, and was a weekly newspaper. In 1908, O. D. Hamstreet purchased the newspaper after moving from Sheridan, Wyoming

, where he had been editor of the Sheridan Enterprise. The owner and editor of the paper in 2007 was George Robertson. As of 2009, it has a circulation of just over 1,200 copies with Clinton Vining as editor and publisher, with ownership by Clinton Vining Company LLC.
