 had acquired the mall in March 2011 and had since took over the operations of the complex effective 1 July 2011. The complex will soon be renamed as "Sunway Putra Mall".

History

The Mall was built at a cost of RM189 million and its launch was marked by a light show.. The shopping centre was launched by Mahathir bin Mohamad, who personally buried a time capsule

 that will be unearthed in 100 year on 2087. The capsule contains a message written by Mahathir and is addressed to the citizens of the future..

The Legend Hotel was built as extension to The Mall on 1993 and completed in 1996. In 1996, Yaohan departmental store was changed into Aktif Lifestyle and in 2004 the store was bought over by Parkson Grand. At the ground floor there is a food court named Medan Hang Tuah.

Components

The Mall is an active and bustling place, as the office of the Malaysian Registrar of Companies is located on the second floor. Many businesses offering assistance in the company registration process sprang up nearby to cater to those seeking to register a company in Malaysia.

The upper floors are mostly occupied by the offices of printing companies and other private organisations.
